All our coaches at 1st Touch Football Academy have an extensive playing and coaching experience and have coached players of all ages and all abilities.

We follow a coaching syllabus that is closely mirrored to that of a Catagory 2 Championship football club and where possible follows the guidelines set out by the Premier Leagues EPPP (Elite Player Performance Plan).

We try to create disciplined environment but one where the players feel comfortable to enjoy their football rather than feel restricted by the environment which in turn can hinder their ability to express their abilities. We hope that this can instill a long term love of the game regardless of the level of football they eventually reach.

At 1st Touch Football Academy our philosophy, where possible, is for players to be encouraged to make their own decisions. Our coaching styles constantly challenge a players problem solving skills by asking questions such as "when might you....?", "why would you....?", "how can you....?" as well as a guided approach by asking to "show me how you can....".

We believe that while it may take longer to see visible results, it will result in a far more rounded and complete footballer, who will be better equipped to deal with the ever changing situations during a match than one who has been consistently told when where and who to pass to.

Our players are provided with a detailed written report twice a year, detailing strengths, weaknesses and a player performance plan.

All our coaches are FA Qualified, are trained in Emergency Aid, have attended courses in Child Welfare and Safeguarding Children as well as being fully CRB checked.
